It’s your move.
You know the story. Jesus attended a wedding party, and the host ran out of wine. Imagine the poor man’s embarrassment. It would be like a Baptist homecoming running out of casseroles. But Jesus saved the day by turning water into wine.
On another occasion, Jesus was miles from town, with over 5000 hungry people and only one happy meal to feed them. He blessed the two fish and five loaves of bread and fed everyone with 12 baskets of scraps left over.
Jesus performed miracles to provide for people’s needs. But He didn’t start with nothing. The wedding servants brought Him wine, and a boy gave up his lunch.
Do you need a miracle?
Better health, a higher paying job, a repaired relationship?
What are you starting with?
God can create something out of nothing, but He often wants our buy-in first. Show a little faith, obedience, and effort.
God could’ve destroyed the walls of Jericho with a breath, but He told Joshua to march around the walls for seven days. He could’ve preserved Noah and his family on a cloud, yet He instructed the old man to construct a passenger ship. Jesus could’ve reached behind Peter’s ear and pulled out a coin for the temple tax. Instead, He told Peter to go fishing and pull the coin from a tilapia’s mouth.
God works in what seems like to us in mysterious and baffling ways. But He sees the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. He knows what you need before you do.
What do these remarkable Bible stories mean to you?

1 — Start with something
The slightest effort. If you’re overweight and your cholesterol is about to make your wife a widow, take a walk. Go for another stroll tomorrow, even if it’s to the stop sign. The next day, go a little further. By Friday, your endorphins are aroused. Now stop eating fried foods — one step at a time.
Do you need to make more money? Learn advanced skills in your field. Take courses on Udemy, get certified, consume YouTube videos. Ask God what He wants you to do with your life. He may ask you, “What is your slightest inkling, the faintest hint of what you want to do?” Your immediate answer is probably the right one. Pursue it!
2 — Stick with the plan
Pursue your slightest inkling. Noah labored for 120 years, building a boat. Abraham left his fortune behind because God told him to go. Your miracle waits on your faith and obedience. Showing up every day consistently is your superpower.
3 — Stand by for the magic of momentum
A train starts slow as it gains steam, and then it’s unstoppable. When you start with a little anything, stick with it, and see results, you’ll trigger the magic of momentum. My goal was to do one set of pushups a day and add two to the set each week. As I became stronger and the numbers became easier to hit, momentum kicked in, motivating me to do more than one set a day. One set a day led to 10,000 in six months.
Give the magic a chance.
Your miracle is waiting on you
Today is a new today. Forget about yesterday’s failures, except for the lessons learned from them. Ask God what He wants you to do, start with the slightest inkling of a hint, stick with the plan, and stand by for the magic of momentum.
I’m excited to hear what happens.
