I was watching the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins game last night and Will asked which team I wanted to win. I waivered on my answer. Sandra said, “Can’t you give him an answer? He’s trying to talk to you.”

The truth is I was torn. I’m an avid fantasy football player and I’ve learned that the only team that I can feel loyalty to is The Hail Marys, my fantasy team. Fantasy sports will divide your loyalties. For instance, if I was a huge Cowboys fan, how could I pull for them this week since my fantasy opponent has Dallas’ Tony Romo as his QB? The reason I couldn’t give Will a solid answer last night was because I had Dallas’ defense on my team and my fantasy opponent in fact did have Tony Romo. So, I really needed Dallas’ defense to play great and their offense to play poorly.

Life does present itself with certain paradoxes at times. Taking sides is sometimes difficult.

But as to the most important issue in all of human life and history, no such ambiguity exists.

Good or evil.

Heaven or Hell.

God or Satan.

No in between exists.

If you aren’t for God, you are against Him. (Matthew 12:30)

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. (Philippians 2:10-11).

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

The Word of God is divisive. But it is clear.

We have to choose a side.
