On the way home I noticed a rattling noise behind the back seat. For the 1073rd time. Each time I made a mental note to investigate and fix this very annoying distraction. Each time I forgot.
It’s like an uncomfortable pebble in your shoe that you don’t take the time to shake out. Instead we rush along in tolerance. Like debt, broken relationships or obesity. Things we should slow down to shake out, repair or fix so that we can live the abundant life.
Yes we would have to toss the metaphor in a time warp because we can’t cure our obesity as fast as removing a pebble, but we can start. And stick with it.
I need to go fix that rattle now.
