Trains don’t ever come at a convenient time. Ever.
We don’t calculate for them when we are racing to appointments or trying to get to work on time. They blow up the worst laid plans. Yes, the worst.
The best laid plans would allow for margin. So you don’t get stopped by a train. Would it kill you to be 5 minutes early? It might give your coworkers cardiac arrest.
Andy Stanley has a great sermon series about margin. In all facets of our lives: financially, personally, relationally. Good stuff.
Margin is the space we purposefully create to…wait for it…inhale…yes, breathe.
But it is a design feature. It doesn’t come preloaded by default. It won’t happen without some effort.
We can run our lives or let our lives keep running us…ragged.
