Sunday lunch turns philosophical.
Shelby was painstakingly trying to cut Will some more meat off his pork chop bone. In frustration she laid the fork down and said, “It’s all bone. You get no more meat.”
Will didn’t miss a beat. With confidence he said, “There’s more right there,” as he pointed to the platter in the center of the table.
He wasn’t worried. His plate was empty, but he knew the supply was well stocked.
As Christians we should have the same quick confidence.
Our bank account may be empty, but our Father is loaded. He owns it all and He blesses as he chooses.
He will supply all of our needs according to His glorious riches. He gives and takes away. Blessed be His name.
We can trust Him. Therefore our lives and attitudes can display confidence in Him. My son doesn’t worry about his next meal. I’ve never let him miss one in his 7 years.
Our Father is so much better at being a father than I am.
