I love the game Wordfeud. It’s like Scrabble except if you play a crazy word, your opponent can’t challenge it. You just get the message shown above, “Invalid Word” and you remove it and keep trying til you play a legit one.

One game can take days to play.

What I have found surprising is the endless amount of invalid words. Have you ever seen a dictionary? A real one, not one online? They are heavy and huge with thousands and thousands of words, but I can spend 2 days trying to make a valid word with my assortment of letters.

I’m a little compulsive in my competitiveness.

As Christ followers there’s a volume of invalid words that should never come out of our mouths.

Words that tear down, instead of build up…ourselves and others.

Words that convey fear, not faith.

Words that express lack and not gratitude.

Complaints instead of contentment.

Words that condemn, not bless.

Words are powerful.

God said, “Let there be light” and there was light.

Jesus said we could say to the mountain be lifted into the sea.

Jesus said to the fig tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.”

And best yet, Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.”

He said it. To realize it, we must believe it and our words need to reflect it.

Now back to Wordfeud. Anyone interested in a game, my name is Hail Marys.
