I Told You So

I have a problem with people saying, “I told you so”.

Yes, I’ve said it a gazillion times and each time I play it back in my mind I cringe. Do I think I’m perfect and know everything? Am I so superior that I can sit high and lofty looking down and talking down to the poor idiot who didn’t follow my sage advice?

Jesus was perfect, but I don’t recall Him saying “I told you so” to anyone. He did say a few times, “You have heard it said…”, but never I told you so.

I should probably be very grateful that people don’t follow my advice every time I so freely give it.
