Yesterday I was getting dressed and I put on a pair of socks.
All by myself and everything. You’re proud of me, yes?
The socks were uncomfortable and I knew that it was going to be a long day so I opted for another pair. Then I realized that they are always uncomfortable. Every time I put them on. And I endure them each time.
Crazy, right? Why are they still in my drawer? I should put them in Sandra’s.
But as Jesus followers we all put on things that should make us uncomfortable.
Gossip.
Unforgiveness.
Bitterness.
Lust.
Crude talk.
Pride.
We have been redeemed from these things. God has custom-tailored clothing for us. We are dressed with the clothing of salvation and draped with the robe of righteousness. (Isaiah 61:10).
Let’s not wear cheap, off the rack junk or worse yet, hand-me-downs from our old nature.
Another good one!
